What is a Children’s Savings Account (CSA)?
A CSA is a long-term account created for a child, often beginning in elementary school, that grows with contributions from families, schools, community partners, and BCCF. Beyond dollars, CSAs raise expectations: when children see savings in their name, they begin to picture themselves succeeding after high school.
- Students with even a few hundred dollars saved are more likely to enroll in and complete education after high school.
- Funds are “earmarked” for college, trades, apprenticeships, and career certificates.
