Battle Creek Community Foundation’s (BCCF) Vice President of Fund Administration and Development Elizabeth Schultheiss has been selected as one of 80 fellows from across the United States for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s WKKF Community Leadership Network.
Announced yesterday, the WKKF Community Leadership Network with the Center for Creative Leadership is an innovative fellowship for leaders in local communities and the national child- and family-serving ecosystem to connect, grow and lead collaborative, transformational change on behalf of children, families and communities. The fellowship connects and equips local leaders to be effective agents of collective, community-led change in Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, New Orleans and other communities across the United States to create conditions where all children, families and communities can thrive.
“I’m excited for the fellowship to challenge my thinking and stretch my leadership,” said Elizabeth Schultheiss. “By learning alongside a network of bold, community-centered changemakers, I hope to strengthen the frameworks that guide my work and learn new approaches that help children and families in Battle Creek and Calhoun County truly thrive.”
“We’re proud of Elizabeth Schultheiss for being selected as a WKKF Community Leadership Network fellow,” said Mary Muliett, BCCF CEO. “It is a testament to her dedication and commitment to the work she has led across Calhoun County and now with BCCF. This fellowship is a tremendous honor that will benefit not only Elizabeth, but our whole BCCF team and the greater Battle Creek community.”
Schultheiss, a resident of Emmett Township in greater Battle Creek, will join class four of the WKKF Community Leadership Network fellowship in beginning the program next month. Over the course of 18 months, the fellows will gain critical knowledge and skills for navigating today’s challenges along with tools to help communities heal and transform systems – policy, practices and beliefs – so they work for everyone. Through six in-person and three virtual gatherings, the fellows will have a chance to build relationships and begin their journey of self-discovery and transformation.
Communities across the country and here in Battle Creek need dedicated leaders who can grow and lead transformational change on behalf of children, families and communities. Schultheiss is one of those dedicated local leaders selected to benefit from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Leadership Network with the Center for Creative Leadership.
Schultheiss has served on numerous boards. She holds an M.P.A. from Western Michigan University, an M.A. in Historic Preservation from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.
